From the city centre to the middle of nowhere, from apartments to country estates

‘It’s a small property, there is nothing in it, there is no point having a valuation’ .

Sadly we hear this all too often. A lifetime dismissed in an instant. We continue to astound clients by revealing items of value they assumed worthless. A rusty steel corkscrew turned out to be a rare 19th Century patented survivor realising £5,000 at auction.

A fresh pair of experienced eyes can see beyond the everyday items. We make a thorough search so as not to miss any item of value; including outbuildings and barns.

A cracked Lowestoft porcelain gravy boat, used as a receptacle for household keys by a front door, spotted during a valuation, realising £6,000 at auction, illustrates the sort of discovery that can never be ruled out.

Landed estates

For larger estates and specialists collections our consultants are on hand to assist in the valuation process. Fees are agreed in advance and for larger properties we can often negotiate a day rate.

For the more substantial estate, our post-valuation services, particularly auction consignment, separate us from the competition. Our independence allows us to direct your clients items to various auction houses to best advantage.

Toby provided us with a valuation of the personal property for a London property and a second property in Bristol and was recommended by our solicitor. As an executor I very much appreciated his attention to detail and the breadth of his knowledge during what to us appeared to be a vast undertaking.

— Mrs M.  (Executor, London)

I have been meaning to write to thank you for your amazingly thorough and painstaking work.

— Ms E.  (Probate practitioner, Bristol)

Thank you so much for your service. You managed the whole event very professionally, and also in a very kind and friendly manner. I feel sure it cannot always be easy. It was really interesting to meet you and to hear your various stories - a fascinating world I have little experience of.

— Dr. K. (Executor, Gloucestershire)

Toby has recently completed a valuation of a family member’s estate and his manner and approach have been exemplary. It was a significant task in terms of volume and variety but we was not phased and methodically worked through without issue and produced a comprehensive and professional valuation document. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

— Mr B.  (Executor, Norwich)

A highly professional and personable service. Toby's valuation of my beloved Mum,'s personal belongings was done with great care and sensitivity, whilst also offering some lovely historical titbits of knowledge. Excellent turnaround in providing a comprehensive report of his findings with clear guidance enabling me to complete the necessary paperwork needed for probate. I highly recommend Toby Pinn.

— Mrs K.  (Executor, Bristol)
